ニューヨークファッション工科大学(FIT)を修了後、武蔵野美術大学を卒業。 年々飛躍を遂げる若干 24 歳の林陸也がデザインを手掛ける SUGARHILL。 ブランド名は、FIT 在学中に住んでいた、ニューヨークのシュガーヒル地区から名付けられた。 在学中に国内外の有名ブランドで経験を積み、2016 年にデビュー。 ミリタリーやワークをベースにしつつ、無骨さや尖った要素を中性的にリヴィルドした 上質な仕立てのコレクションは、国内外から高い注目を集める。
